Built in 1907
— Restored with Care
This house was built in 1907, just a short walk from where Hallgrímskirkja church stands today — though the church didn’t come until much later.
Originally constructed by bricklayer Magnús Magnússon, the building has seen many lives: from single-family home to upstairs apartments, and even a radio repair workshop in the mid-1900s. The structure has grown gradually over the years — with thoughtful extensions in 1932, 1948, and 1957 — always adapting while keeping its original character.
We’ve worked to preserve that feeling. The bones of the house remain, but you’ll find a few quiet upgrades: geothermal heating, a modern kitchen, and the same warm timber and tin that Reykjavík homes are known for.
