About Us

About us
A family-run guesthouse in the heart of Reykjavík,
welcoming guests to our century-old home.

Meet the hosts
We're María and Suzanna, a mother-and-daughter team who own and manage this century-old house together.
We personally prepare every apartment, maintain the property, and are always happy to help with local recommendations or anything you may need during your stay.
When you book with us, you're communicating directly with the owners.

In the heart of Reykjavík
Our house is located just steps from Hallgrímskirkja, cafés, restaurants and Reykjavík's main shopping streets. Everything in the city centre is within easy walking distance, making it an ideal base for exploring Iceland's capital.
Built in 1907
Built in 1907 by bricklayer Magnús Magnússon, the house has stood in Reykjavík for more than a century. It has served as a family home, upstairs apartments and even a radio repair workshop as the city grew around it.
One of our favourite historical photographs shows the house while Hallgrímskirkja was still under construction.

Restored with Care
Over the decades the house has been thoughtfully expanded and carefully maintained while preserving its original character.
Today you'll find modern comforts such as fully equipped kitchens, geothermal heating and comfortable living spaces, while many of the original architectural details remain.
